Commemorating International Human Rights Day

Puntland Human Rights Association (PHRA) conducted a public meeting intended to commemorate the Human Rights Day on December 10, 2022. First of all, the meeting took place at the Safari Hotel in Qardho district of Puntland federal member state of Somalia. The main goal of PHRA is to campaign for the promotion and support of human rights principles. The theme of this year is “Dignity, freedom and justice for all”. Secondly, hundreds of participants have joined the forum including journalists, youth groups, women, civil society, NGOs and local authority representatives.

Actually, The PHRA NGO took active rule in order for Somali people to join the rest of the world and celebrate international Human Rights Day due on Saturday. On the other hand, the local authority representatives who were present at the event, including regional deputy governor Abdiaziz Yusuf Amir and also the deputy mayor of Qardho district Mohamud Hayaf Said.

In addition to this, Mohamud mahad from Puntland Human Rights Association revealed the gross human rights violations and abuses happening in 2022 in Puntland and Somalia as a whole.

Last but not the list, PHRA is committed to increasing awareness and community outreach programs to improve the human rights situation in Somalia. Finally, the Puntland Human Rights Association (PHRA) released a statement regarding the 2022 celebration of human rights day.
